The shortest, longest, and fastest event of the year, the official NZ Wiener Derby returns to The Flying Moa from 10am on Saturday 18 September, for it’s 6th annual morning of racing, costumes and cuteness overload.
Registrations are open now for miniature and standard dachshunds and a race for wannabe wieners (other small breeds, or doxie mixes). Register your wiener below now.
Even if your four-legged friend isn’t racing, they can still enter the costume parade or just spectate. We are hoping to set a record for the largest group of dachshunds in NZ at one time, so be part of the history books!
Sausage sizzle, balloon wieners for the kids and doggie market for all your spoilt fur babies needs. Don’t have a furry friend? Spectators welcome – get in early for the best views of the race track.
